Founder and partner at SMOK Ventures, investing in early-stage startup founders (checks from €50k to €2M) based in Poland but with a global vision and with focus on software companies in gaming, AR/VR, fintech, martech, and AI.

Previously he co-founded Filmaster.TV (acquired by Samba TV in 2015) which provided Netflix-like personalization and analytics solutions for the entertainment industry helping television and online video providers rapidly capture and analyze user preferences in order to deliver a comprehensive picture of the audience and drive incremental admissions/viewership. After the acquisition by Samba TV, he stayed at SambaTV and helped the company bring its products to the European markets and scale the team from 4 to 40 in four years.
Borys is one of the key founders of Startup Poland, a leading technology think tank in Poland and the community voice of Polish startups. Currently, he is the chairman of the board of the foundation.
Among others, he co-founded ReaktorWarsaw.com, a Bay-Area-style startup mansion where startups work, collaborate and network, home of the famous OpenReaktor events and ReaktorX pre-acceleration program.
He occasionally mentors early-stage startups at Google for Startups, The Founder Institute, Huge Thing, mspark and other accelerators. He was named one of fifty most creative Polish entrepreneurs by Brief.pl in 2012.
