About the project and the team

SVIP is today serving VGTV – Norway’s biggest web-tv channel with half a million daily viewers with 350 million play starts a year. SVIP caters for VGTV original shows, a library of over 400 documentaries, premium sport live streams and 24/7 news and sports coverage. Now we will expand the platform to Aftonbladet, and establish a common team with VG and Aftonbladet, in a joint effort to create the video portal for the future! The SVIP platform has in the last six months been rebuilt from the ground up, so you will come to a brand new and modern product that is carefully put together based on everything we have learned – successes and failures – from the last years to create a great product. Our challenge is to continue on the great work and effort that has been put into the product and elevate it even further, to create a top tier video portal, serving the needs from the brands and most importantly our users. Previous work with video or video platforms is no requirement, but passion for online video is definitely something we are looking for. SVIP works in close collaboration with Stream team which is Schibsted Media’s central platform for delivering video content that covers all parts of video workflow within media houses – from transcoding and ingesting live video, through enhancing video metadata, to playback and monetization. We are currently looking for three new Javascript developers to join the team in Krakow. The team is managed from Oslo, Norway. The total number of people for the SVIP team will be eight.

Skills & requirements

In this role you will be working with Javascript (React + Redux, Node.js), RESTful services, testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress), responsive web design (SASS, CSS modules), Git and Github. We follow best practices like unit and end-to-end testing, use different continuous integration tools and utilize cloud platforms: AWS and Kubernetes. As a member of the team, you will be part of a high speed, inclusive and fun environment where trust, openness, collaboration, and passion is key. We are humble and care a lot about our craft, always helping each other to become better at it. We test, we fail and learn together.
