Selling investment products differs a lot from selling tangible things. So called product is a service that has been productised by companies in order to appear to a customer. Mis-selling scandals and other ways customers’ trust had been abused caused regulators to take close look and try to put the investment management industry in order. Among other measures, a transparency of costs that are incurred by funds had been enforced by MiFID II. One of such costs is research procurement which is moving onto platforms like Uber or Spotify. This new business model will be put under magnifying glass and discussed in the upcoming Fintech Open Mic Night.
