Opis:
It will be fifth Mesos & Kubernetes User Group meetup combined with DevOps Days Before. Location: http://en.adgarochota.pl/contact/location room number: EVENT ROOM  Our speakers will be:
  • Tomasz Cholewa - " Nomad as a simple and flexible container orchestrator"
"In today's world of container based applications and microservices orchestrators started to play crucial role. Many well known projects have started to dominate the market with bunch of features and all the complexity that comes with it. Nomad is a simple and flexible container orchestrator made by guys who brought us Vagrant, Terraform and Consul. It's certainly not the biggest and well known, but has some pretty nice features and it's worth to get yourself acquaint with. In the presentation it will be compared with some of its competitors and also most notable features will be presented during short live demo."
  • Pini Reznik (Container Solutions) - "Testing of cloud native applications "
"Building and testing a monolith is already hard enough but when you the parts of the application become smaller and smaller and you throw in some distributed computing using containers and clouds, the testing becomes particularly difficult. In this talk I will explain the concept of cloud native applications and show development and testing techniques that helped us to build complex systems such as a Mesos framework for ElasticSearch and others."
  • Jorg Schad (Mesosphere) - "No One puts Java in the Container"
"The current craze of Docker has everyone sticking their processes inside a container... but do you really understand cgroups and how they work? Do you understand the difference between CPU Sets and CPU Shares? Many applications such as Spark live inside a Java Runtime, but do you understand the consequence of what impact the cgroup constraints have on the JRE? This talk starts with a deep understand of Java's memory management and GC characteristics and how JRE characteristics change based on core count. We will continue the talk looking at containers and how resource isolation works. The session will detail specifically the difference between CPU sets and CPU shares and memory management. The session will close with a deep understanding of the consequences of running the JRE in a CPU share environment and the potential for pseudo-random behavior of running in a heterogeneous datacenter."
  • Łukasz Sztachański i Łukasz Łuczaj (Intel) - "Kubernetes self-healing: HA for services and control plane"
    • Introduction and Kubernetes architecture overview
    • Kubernetes objects (pods, replication controllers, services) and application HA
    • Kubernetes control plane HA problem and proposed solution with HAproxy
    • Introduction to federation (cluster of clusters)
Doors open at 18:00, talks start at 18:30pm, about 9pm we move to a pub. We are ready to host 100 folk in the room so there may be plenty of people to discuss data science questions with!
