ABSTRACT
Power BI as Analysis Services - In a typical architectural pattern of BI solutions, behind the Data Warehouse and before the reporting tool, we have a semantic data model usually implemented in Analysis Services. Can we give it up and create a model in Power BI instead? What limitations will this bring? Or maybe in some situations it will be a better solution? Do we have any limitations from the model administration point of view? I will try to answer these questions during the session.
BIO
Stefan Woliński - Works as an Architect of Business Intelligence solutions and head of the development team. He started his adventure with databases as an administrator (with dBase and SQL Server 2005), then worked for a very long time as a developer and BI consultant creating solutions based on Ms SQL Server and the Azure platform. So far, he has shared his passions as a speaker at the Bydgoszcz-Toruń branch of the Data Community.
