What LoGeek Night is?

LoGeek Night is a series of events which are all about learning, networking and integrating the IT community. During the open, interactive meet-ups Luxoft experts share their knowledge via presentations and discussions in an informal atmosphere (snacks and beverages are served).

All YOU have to do is to OPEN your mind. You will discover new horizons and opportunities as you communicate with experts and IT professionals.

ABOUT OUR PRESENTATION

During the event our speakers will lead two presentations.

Evolution or revolution? Are trending technologies really breakthrough….? Or they are just old ideas which have been improved over time and have better marketing? During the presentation we will cover several currently popular technologies and what the origin of those is.

Cloud-based micro service architecture has seized our tech world.

The new approach promises a quick, convenient development of modular, reliable and, most importantly, easily scalable systems. Sounds like the holy grails of IT, right? Surprisingly, the promise is actually true, but with a catch.

Microservices, when done alright, solve significant amount of issues we faced, while working with monolithic applications. The key thing here - done aright. When done incorrect, can bring more harm than good to your project. And that's a quite common case, as we don't have much experience with the new architectural approach, and do still learn how to use microservices properly. While focusing on tools, best practices and code, it's still worth having in mind, that the new architectural approach requires new approach to quality as well.
