Role Summary:
GE Digital will drive global continuity of Service IT programs, processes and integration. The position will serve as a key member of the Digital Enterprise Technology team, reporting into Field Service organization. The individual will work on creating/maintaining a sound CI/CD pipeline along with providing Administration and setting up strict governance policies for SFDC/SMAX Platform.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Ensure proper Administration and Strict Governance around all the applications on Salesforce platform.
• Create and maintain fields, views, reports, dashboards and other Salesforce.com objects.
• Implement new enhancements including custom objects, workflows, validation rules, approval
• processes, flows, and email alerts.
• Maintain metrics on production changes (e.g., number of deployments, issues related to
• deployments, status of improvement items, etc.)
• Create new reporting capabilities and respond to ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
• Grant, revoke, and maintain user licenses.
• Maintain security including sharing rules and security levels.
• Design, create and maintain user roles, profiles and hierarchies.
• Monitor application storage usage and archive data as needed.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on items related to Salesforce.com, third party integrations,
• and AppExchange.
• Maintain key production org metrics (e.g., code coverage) and drive remediation actions
• where needed.
• Work with development teams to understand impacts of branches and code merges
• Develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to
• production environment.
• Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release
• procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
• Research new software development and configuration management methodologies and
• technologies and analyze their application to current configuration management needs.
• Demonstrates expertise in writing scripts to automate tasks. Implements Continuous Integration/Deployment build principles.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience working as a Salesforce DevOps Engineer with overall 7+ years of IT
• experience.
• Experience of some of the Dev-ops tools in Salesforce CI eco-system (SVN, Jenkins, Bit Bucket, Git/Github, Ant Scripts, Eclipse, ClickDeploy, Salesforce DX etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of Salesforce.com technical architecture
• Manage sandbox environments and coordinate schedules for conducting refreshes.
• Experience with packaging objects, workflows and other settings into change sets and
• maintaining them across multiple sandboxes.
• Hands-on experience with reports, dashboards, and data management/manipulation.
• Experience with AppExchange packages and integrating 3rd party applications to Salesforce.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Expertise in data migration using data loader/workbench.
• Expertise in Salesforce Enterprise Deployments, Salesforce Release/Change Management, Instance management.
• Expertise in build integration of complex enterprise with Packaging/Deploying Salesforce.com
• Applications using Force.com Migration Tool (ANT) with Force.com Metadata API, Web
• Services API, Tooling API.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal direction.
• Experience of doing Automation of repetitive Manual tasks through some scripting Language.
Desired Characteristics:
• Experience with ServiceMax development/administration.
• Full system development life cycle hands-on experience: analysis, designing, coding, testing, performance tuning and documentation.
• Experience working on a global team with stakeholders across all poles.
• Experience in software platform, advanced applications, user-interface design and/or systems engineering.
• Experience in platform and application development.
• Team leadership experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Quality, Tools and/or LEAN processes.
• Salesforce.com Admin certified; Salesforce.com Developer certified.
• Lean six sigma experience.
• PMP / ITIL certified.
• Experience in Healthcare industry.
