Nowadays we’re living in a framework-centric front-end. By looking at various job offers, talks, and conferences one may assume, that frameworks are the only places where any kind of progress is happening, while native solutions got frozen for ever. But wait a sec… is this statement still valid in 2018? In my talk I’d like to show you how far we are from building truly time-proof and fatigue-less (TM) solutions based on Web Components, what’s this technique all about, and how does it relate to tools considered industry standard this month.

Real User Measurement (RUM) has recently been a hot topic, and the number of ways we can learn more about how our applications perform in real life scenarios has grown. Our well-known friend, performance.now(), used to be a great fellow in battling our performance issues, but it isn't really enough when it comes to generating performance metrics for the real experience that our users have. During my talk, I'll tell you more about how you can automate collecting meaningful data by leveraging modern browser toys, such as Resource Timing, Server Timing, Performance Observer, Beacon APIs and more.
