On the Border of Art and Tech
- 18.30 Welcome in Arteia!
- 19.00 Paweł's talk on ZKPs
- 19.30 Piotr's talk on ML
- 20.00 Dinner break
Hello Technologists, Artists, Art & Tech Lovers!
We invite you all for a nice gathering in our office on the 5th Dec to explore how technologies like blockchain and machine learning can benefit the actors of the art world.
If you are into impactful solutions, we would like to meet you and discuss ideas together.
Feel invited! Just let us know you will be there please (so we order the right amount of pizza and drinks).
Speakers lineup:
Paweł Pinio, Solution Architect
Zero-knowledge Proofs For Mere Mortals: What are zk proofs and why you should care?
How can you prove to someone that you know something without revealing anything about it? As blockchain technologies are gaining more and more traction, the need for increased privacy and security for all actors of the network remains at its highest. The concept of ZK proofs is not new, but now it's being incorporated on a massive scale into blockchain networks to address their shortcomings. These protocols have the power to bring privacy to the next level with very few compromises. In this talk, we are going to understand how ZK proofs can enhance trust and create a new chapter in digital privacy.
Pawel is a software professional with a well-established performance record in both corporate and startup environments as a software engineer and as a technical leader. In Arteïa, Pawel leads greenfield development initiatives, building products for the art market that utilize distributed ledger technologies.
Piotr Warchoł, Lead Data Scientist
Machine learning based solutions for the artworld.
Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are a cornerstone of many applications of machine vision technologies. First, I will explain how and (partly) why they work. Then, I will show a couple of slightly more modern network architectures, that use and expand on the ideas of CNNs and that we at Arteia incorporate in our work to solve some problems of the art world.
Piotr, a theoretical physicist turned data scientist, is responsible for data based, machine learning solutions developed in Arteïa. In his scientific career, he worked in top academic groups in Poland, France and US as well as taught a machine learning course at the Jagiellonian University and co-founded its makerspace, the Garage of Complexity. After a short freelancing period for a London based startup, he joined Arteia as a Lead Data Scientist.
Marek Zabicki, CTO
Challenges in art tech.
Marek Zabicki, Ph. D., Arteia's CTO. Marek has Ph. D. in control & optimization of decentralized systems, more than three decades experience in developing complex information retrieval systems, modeling financial derivatives and developing art management platforms.
