21 spotkanie Microsoft Azure User Group Poland we Wrocławiu
Abstract
In this session I will review the three key knowledge areas for newcomers to Azure Cosmos DB. The key areas are modeling data, choosing a partition key, and understanding service billing based on RUs. Your data modeling and partitioning decisions in the first weeks and months determine how cost and performance will scale over the useful lifetime of your system. I will start by discussing pricing, the PaaS concept of billing based on Request Units (RUs), and the process for provisioning service throughput. The rest of the session will justify the importance of data modeling and partitioning, and introduce best practices that guide you toward the best performance and lowest cost.
Speaker: Andy Feldman is a PM II in the Azure Cosmos DB PG. His skill areas include Azure Cosmos DB best-practices and the Java SDK for Azure Cosmos DB.
