"Serverless Architecture with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK)"
Abstract: Once microservices have replaced the enormous and highly resource-consuming monolith applications, software development has changed for the better. And while such a revolution had improved the way developers worked, microservice architecture still posed a challenge in the areas of deployment and infrastructure management for distributed systems, and there were scenarios when it was not as cost-effective as it could have been. That is how the software architecture underwent another major shift. Now, towards the serverless architecture epoch.
In this presentation, we will discover what it means to go serverless, how to design a serverless architecture, how it compares to microservices, what are its pros and cons and how to utilize AWS Cloud Development Kit for building serverless systems.

At the end of the presentation, you will learn a couple of the best practices to help you keep the cost control process to be effective (and less stressful).

People-oriented manager and technology architect with over 20 years of experience in application and data architectures, development processes, and complex IT delivery. Engaged in various projects as an architect of a client-server distributed systems in banking & finance areas, microservices architect, development process architect and in the last 5 years mainly focused on cloud data architecture (AWS, Azure) for various projects for Accenture’s clients and TomTom (where was responsible for running wide-scale production system AWS based). Kosma is passionate about data & business intelligence. Privately, father and husband, enthusiast of snowboard, longboard, metalcore, and tanks.
