(CS)²AI Online™:Cyber Commissioning to Enhance Building Control System Security
Building control systems differ only in placement to many of the production operations systems with which we're all familiar, yet are often neglected when it comes to security, leaving them vulnerable not just to be attacked but as vectors for attackers to reach other, more protected systems, as we have seen many examples of in recent years.
Cyber commissioning is a critical, post-installation step to validate the effectiveness of cybersecurity measures implemented during the design phase. This process involves thorough testing and assessment of any system's security posture to identify and address vulnerabilities or weaknesses that could be exploited by cyber threats. By conducting penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security audits as part of cyber commissioning, building owners and operators can ensure that their control systems are resilient against evolving cyber threats.
