Cyber-attacks have grown disproportionately in recent years to the point that the manufacturing sector is now the top target of attackers. Some of their techniques are well known, but they are increasingly sophisticated. Defenders cannot rely on old concepts like “security by obscurity” or hypothetical air gaps any longer. For manufacturing stakeholders there is too much at risk and too much uncertainty to remain complacent with existing threat mitigation strategies.
