AGENDA:

6 pm - 6:45 pm - "jq as a functional programming language"

If you work with JSON, you probably know jq. It's that little command-line tool that lets you easily extract and process data. But do you know that jq is actually a dynamically-typed functional programming language? In this talk, I will demonstrate how jq can help with more advanced processing of (mostly) JSON (but not only).

Speaker: Paweł Bartkiewicz

Scala developer at Scalac. Enjoys every form of programming, from assembly and microcontrollers to Haskell and big servers. Loves types. Always considers security first.

6:45 pm - networking break

7:15 pm - 7:45 - "ZIO actors"

Actors are one of the most popular concurrency models in nowadays software systems. In this talk, I will present zio-actors - a small strongly typed actor library backed by ZIO. I will explain library design, demonstrate its usage and point out the differences and similarities with Akka.

Speaker: Mateusz Sokół

I'm a software engineer at Scalac and for the past six months, I've been contributing to ZIO ecosystem, especially ZIO-Actors and ZIO-NIO. I'm a fan of functional programming, distributed systems, and many related topics.
