Talk #1: Kotlin from backend developer perspective

8 months ago my team decided to select Kotlin as our language of choice for our backend services. Since then we write new code only in Kotlin and slowly migrate our existing codebase. I'd like to share experiences we gathered so far: good and bad parts of the migration, gotchas and Java/Kotlin compatibility issues.

Bartłomiej Szczepanik is a Software Engineer @ Qualtrics. Professionally an enthusiast of distributed systems, Domain-Driven Design and truly object-oriented design. Personally a vintage man, in love with music, fashion and social dances of Swing and early Rock'n'Roll epochs.
