MQTT is an ISO standard pub/sub message broker. It is used in Facebook’s messenger, and for IoT. This class will start with a half hour lecture and discussion. Those who wish to stay can take part in the tutorial.
In the tutorial we will use the free mosquitto test broker. We will use the free MQTT Explorer to make sure that everything works, and then we will use iPython and IMQTT to connect to the message broker and run a very simple chat session. We will also get the Paho Python MQTT client running.
For those interested the last thing we will do will be to connect our browser console to the chat room using Javascript.
