  • Michał Chudziak - "Native modules in React Native: when JavaScript is not enough"

A quick overview of Native Modules for React Native. This time I’ll try to introduce you to the world of native modules. We’ll talk about basic communication through the bridge, linking the static and dynamic frameworks and sample implementation on both platforms.

7:45

  • Ferran Negre Pizarro - "React Native - Case study: From zero to a super hero app"

React Native ecosystem is awesome, we have plenty of tools and libraries to start right away creating our own app. But where are those apps? How should we proceed to start building more apps and fewer tools?

In this talk, I will drive you through my journey in a personal project that went from a pure Android application to a cross-platform React Native app where we can support both iOS and Android.

8:45

  • Mike Grabowski - "The Power Of Interpolation"

One of the biggest benefits when choosing React Native is its declarative nature. Instead of laying out elements on screen manually, we tell React how our interface should look like for a given state. That, combined with React Native taking care of rendering, allows us to write things that would be hard or even impossible otherwise. One of such things are animations. Historically, we used to write them in an imperative and stateful manner. By design, these are hard to debug and - most importantly compose. In this talk, we will take a look at writing animations in React Native by using an Animated module. I will share with you what I have learned when writing a music player in React Native. We will explore how connecting interpolation with events coming out of music player can lead us to the stable, declarative and performant music player.

See you there!
