Don't invent the wheel they said. It is a waste of time they said. They were wrong. Sometimes simple solutions turn out to be the wrong ones, and this is a story of our failure introducing the standard go-to solution. I will introduce you to a simplified version of the problem, the obvious approach, then walk through the issues that occurred and briefly describe the approach that happened to work after all—without going into details behind the NDA. This talk is based on a real-life example in the telco industry.
