- Have Microsoft Windows Server and IIS skills including configuration for high availability and recovery (SQL Server skills highly desirable)
- Have experience in other Operating Systems and DBMS highly desirable
- Have knowledge of Windows Server operation within an AWS or other public cloud environment – minimum skill is within a VMware hosting environment
- Are familiar with Windows Active Directory
- Know Windows patch management
- Have experience with Web site and certificate management
- Are familiar with DNS server management and Mail server management
- Have experience TCP/IP networking configuration and troubleshooting in relation to SQL database services
- Excellent communication, problem management and analytical skills
- Have MCSA level certification demonstrating expertise in required technologies
- Have At least 5 years’ experience supporting mission critical Windows Server and IIS based commercial services, ideally internet facing
- Have experience of operating in an ITIL driven service management environment, with particular experience in complying with change and problem management
- Have experience of working with systems that hold personal data and which are operated in compliance with European data processing rules
- Service orientation to ensure that internal and external customer needs are met efficiently and without unnecessary delay
- Open mindedness to support incident and problem management processes including troubleshooting of service issues
- Can do, pragmatic mentality to get the job done and to have the energy and commitment to continuously improve services
- Attention to detail to get the job done right first time and to a high level of quality
- Ensuring all Windows Server instances are actively managed to achieve optimal availability and performance, evidenced by metrics from Logic Monitor infrastructure monitoring and Pingdom service monitoring
- Supporting the Windows Platform Team Leader to establish and maintain standard practices on specification, configuration and management of Windows Server instances to support operation
- Ensuring correct configuration and operation of backup and disaster recovery procedures including data restore and actual recovery
- Ensuring correct configuration and operation of Anti Virus, patching and monitoring systems
- Operating and maintaining AWS server infrastructure used for hosting of Windows Server and associated technologies
- Providing outstanding support to key stakeholders within Engineering and Customer Support
- Troubleshooting performance, quality and availability issues with Windows servers and associated hosted applications and technologies (including SQL Server)
- Supporting the Problem Manager to investigate incidents, identify root cause, identify and progress workaround and permanent fix actions
- Understanding and comply with key policies and processes, including Change Management, Problem Management, Major Incident Management and Information Security Management
