Na przestrzeni ostatnich kilku dekad ukazało się wiele opracowań naukowych, które wskazują siedzący tryb życia jako źrodło wielu problemów zdrowotnych. Co gorsza, nawet regularna aktywność fizyczna "po godzinach" nie jest w stanie zniwelować spustoszenia, jakie czyni w naszych organizmach wielogodzinne siedzenie. Rozwiązanie tego problemu jest całkiem proste, ale jednocześnie nie tak łatwo wprowadzić je w życie. Czynniki kulturowe, postęp technologiczny, ale także psychospołeczne bariery oraz leniwa, ludzka natura sprawiły, że siedzimy praktycznie przez całe swoje życie. Podczas tej prelekcji pokażę Ci, jak zrobić pierwszy krok na drodze do powstania z krzeseł, by zawalczyć o swoje zdrowie.
Marek jest doświadczonym (przez życie ;)) programistą. W swojej ponad 10-letniej karierze zetknął się z takimi technologiami jak .NET, C#, Android, Java, Big Data czy Scala. Marek to po prostu komputerowy geek, zafascynowany w szczególności coraz większym wpływem informatyki teoretycznej na branżę IT.
Fear and awareness – human aspects of automation - Damian Wolan
Have you ever wonder what blocks teams from being more productive, more creative, more prepared for a change? What blocks the sleeping potential of a tea from being awoken? I did, and my private answer for this question is “FEAR”. A fear of the change, a fear of unknown, a fear of being responsible for our work. Good news is that we can fight with fear and automation is one of our weapons and this is yet another reason to introduce an automated pipeline into your project. During this presentation I will try to answer what is the origin of the fear, how fear may influence our decisions, how we can fight with fear and how automation can help us with it. How automated environment provisioning can change our everyday work and how having automated integration, tests and deployment may influence our courage and creativity. What are benefits of “Fail fast, fail often” approach. Should we reduce the risk, or reduce the cost of failure. A part of the presentation will be dedicated to fears related to an automation itself. During my every day work I met people who are still not convinced to introduce even a small automated pipeline. They have doubts about the automation complexity, required skills, dedicated resources, infrastructure etc. In this part I would like to dispel these doubts and encourage people that there is nothing to be scare off. I would like to increase awareness about multiple options that we can choose from. Answer the question who should be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of our pipeline. I hope that after this presentation you will be more aware about fears that accompany us every day. And I hope this knowledge will make you and your teams braver, keener to experiment, open for a change, more creative and innovative. And as a result, more successful.
