Spring apps - Docker adoption, case study
This presentation is all about good practices using Docker and Spring applications.
Shows common pitfalls and solutions based on our case study.
It's supposed to be 'very practical', if you don't know how to use Docker, you'll learn 'by example'.
You'll be able to learn how to:
- migrate a set of pure Spring applications to reusable platform that is good for development and for production.
- create a platform configuration that is easy to read and override for multiple environments.
- automate deployments in a way that allows easy going 'back in time' to previous releases.
Even if you already know Docker well - this will show you how to effectively use/debug Spring applications in a multi-container environment.
Part of the presentation will be devoted to a 'code take-away' that can immediately be used in your own application set.
Tools used:
- Docker Compose, Swarm
- Jenkins X
- Spring Boot
P.S. if you're interested in any specific agenda part/code example - write me a message on Meetup.
