This time we will conduct the whole meeting in English because one of the presentations will be done by a special guest from AWS!

You can expect two lectures:

1. Bumpy road to cloud native business, why good architecture matters more than ever

Jamf is a software company that is the developer of Jamf Pro solution to manage Apple devices in Enterprise. Jamf Ends 2020 Powering More Than 20 Million Devices. In 2002 when the company has been founded we offered boxes with software now we are a SaaS provider. Today we would like to share the story about our journey to cloud native business and why it’s slightly more difficult than looks at first sight.

2. Test your code for the love of PROD!

That's it! You hit that git push command! The code's on its way to production. It's an amazing piece of code, after all - you wrote it. But are you sure it's good? Are you sure it will not break anything down the line? I'm sorry for making you think about it... Okay, let's talk about code testing strategies on AWS, so you no longer have to worry if your code will go broken to PROD. In this talk, we will see how we can use AWS Deployment and Observability tools to help you in your adventure for careless code deployments!

Speakers:

Jacek Tomasik

Manager with 20+ years of experience in IT running Operations, Development, Architecture, and Security disciplines. Jacek gained experience in companies like Amazon Web Services, Capgemini, HP. Familiar with the cloud since 2012 now helping colleagues in JAMF in their cloud journey.

Michał Popowski

Michał started a professional carrier as a DB developer on the Oracle platform over 20 years ago, evolved to be a DB designer, app designer, and finally system designer and architect. Over years, he experimented with grid computing, clustered systems, large-scale data processing, and clouds. He is fascinated with mass data processing in a distributed environment focused on high performance and high availability. For the last couple of years, he has built solutions on top of the cloud. He supported teams moving systems and infrastructure and refactoring apps to be cloud-native. He worked for Polish companies (Wasko, Senetic), international corporations (UPC, Capgemini, and JAMF). Michał is an "AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate" and "Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

Darko Mesaroš

Darko is a Senior Developer Advocate focusing on Central and Eastern Europe. He shares his passion and technological know-how with Engineers, Developers, and communities across the world. If it can be automated, Darko tries to do so. Most of his focus is towards DevOps and Management Tools, where automation, pipelines, and efficient developer tools are the name of the game – click less and code more so you do not repeat yourself - is what he says!

He has a long IT career in various areas, from retail to government, to even large telcos. At AWS, Darko has worked as a Premium Support Engineer and as a Solutions Architect, which has given him first-hand experience with AWS customers and their AWS adventures, helping them learn the ways of the cloud!

As a passionate collector of old computers, he has a collection of computers and games and they came as an inspiration to tinker with computers as much as possible! Darko comes from Serbia, but has lived in Czech Republic, Malta, Ireland, and now Germany!
