Managing a project is a relatively simple task when everyone is on site and everything moves according to plan. But what about the other times? How do you manage various teams across multiple timezones, and with members distributed across the country?. On top of that, you are so Agile that your requirements change from one day to the next, and you have two product owners - one per timezone. And two project managers as well. And all you need to do is to build Scrum teams, and bring order to chaos to meet your deadlines and scope. The good news is that you are not alone. The bad - failure is not an option.

Radek Krzywania is a Project Manager with over 10 years of experience, plus PMI and Scrum Master certifications. He’s an Agile evangelist with a strong focus on teams, their individual way of working, and building accountability for products. From the beginning he has been involved in projects with stakeholders all over the world, with the added bonus of travelling to work with them. He’s a "been there, done that" guy with a great sense of humor and passion for his work. He has worked with Roche for over three years, delivering IT based medical systems to physicians and patients.

• 19:00 - 19:30 Driving organizational change - how different is that - Marcin Jagielczuk

Organizational change is something we often see in big organizations, and working in such an environment makes you either the one who wants a change to happen, or the one who is impacted. So what’s it like to lead and drive such a change? How different is this from leading a typical IT project? How do make a large organization ready for changes, and make sure that everyone will both see the benefits and take the time and effort to adapt to change? I’ll try to answer these questions and encourage everyone to not only be impacted by a change but also be the one who makes that impact.

Marcin has worked in Roche since 2006, starting as a system support specialist, through release manager to his current position as Delivery Manager. He works with multiple solutions, projects and business partners, and is currently responsible for delivery of service and projects in the area of document management in Clinical Studies.

At work, he is constantly looking for improvements, optimizations and efficiency. Outside of work, he manages even more complex solutions known as "marriage" and "raising children" which, whenever possible, he leaves to go out into the wild.
