Abstract: Years ago, even the simplest query sent to a DBMS would require the developer to write a large amount of code. With time, apps' persistence layers became thinner and thinner. Spring Data is a Spring ecosystem project that helps you abstract the persistence layer to almost zero code. Today, Spring Data helps Spring developers write efficient persistence code for any kind of data store technology, from SQL to NoSQL, from imperative to reactive.

Speaker: Calin Constantinov
Abstract: Efficient structuring of information is essential for making it easily respond to our questions. Recommendations lead to some of the most complex queries targeting a database, especially when dealing with social-heavy data. While usually tricky to tame, such input can naturally be persisted by Neo4j, enabling Cypher to handle the question-answering part. This talk will focus on how a native graph database can be used for making recommendations simple to understand, fun to write, and fast enough to execute in the blink of an eye.
