Let's Build Something! Hackathon: DevC Kraków #3

You're invited to #BuildDays2018!

2018 Developer Circles Community Challenge has launched! As part of this global hackathon, developers around the world are challenged to build solutions that bring communities together. 

Please join us for the Build Day in Kraków on 23rd of JUNE (Saturday) , where we'll get together to code and build submissions for the challenge.

Main Requirement: Build software applications that help bring communities together and use at least one Facebook developer product.

NOTE THAT OUR DEVC KRAKÓW EVENT IS NOT AN OFFICIAL FB HACKATHON. We want to create the best possible environment for you to start creating your project by organizing the great space, inviting experienced mentors and preraring food ready! ;) Our event will take 12h (9am-9pm). 

Participants will be asked to create solutions that use at least one Facebook developer product, such as Groups API, Messenger or React. Bonus prizes will be given to participants who build the best solutions for bridging online connections with offline experiences, growing a community, and driving engagement within a community.

Developer Circles from Facebook are a great way for people to join a network of developers around the world, organized locally by members of the community. Developer Circles around the world are hosting in-person Build Days, where developers and community leaders can meet each other and build solutions together.

$230,000 in prizes:

1. First Place - Global Round • $30,000 USD
2. Second Place - Global Round • $20,000 USD
3. Third Place - Global Round • $10,000 USD
4. Best Pre-Existing, Updated Solution - Global Round • $7,000 USD
5. First Place - Regional Round (7) • $7,500 USD awarded in each region
6. Second Place - Regional Round (7) • $5,000 USD awarded in each region
7. Third Place - Regional Round (7) • $3,500 USD awarded in each region
8. Best Pre-Existing, Updated Solution - Regional Round (7) • $3,000 USD awarded in each region
9. Bonus Prize: Best solution to Bridge on and offline experiences • $10,000 USD
10. Bonus Prize: Best solution to Build and grow community • $10,000 USD
11. Bonus Prize: Best solution to Drive engaging communities • $10,000 USD

How to Enter the hackathon:

3. Come to our Build Day event on 23rd of June
4. Check out the Facebook tools you can build with on the Resources tab.
5. Create a two-minute demo video that demonstrates your solution’s features and functionality.
6. 6Submit your project to the Challenge website by July 26, 2018, 2pm PST.

To take part in a global hackathon you need to submit the following assets:

• Demo video. (hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, or Youku). Your video should be around 2 minutes, include a demo of your working application via a step-by-step visual demo, and be available in English. Be sure to explain how the Facebook products used enhances the experience of your solution!
• Images. Please submit at least one image/screenshot of your application.
• Access. A way to access your working application for judging and testing by providing a mobile test build, a link to a live website, or a demo site where the application is deployed.
