== Migration of a Core Banking System to PostgreSQL ==

The Raiffeisen Building Society Bank in Austria migrated its core banking

system from IBM Informix to PostgreSQL. Max will talk about the various

aspects of the migration:

* motivation for the migration

* technical pre-existing conditions

* approach

* management point of view

* duration and costs

* technical difficulties

* two years after the migration: incidents, what's better/worse?

Speaker:

Max Hofer is working since 2001 in the field of software engineering in

different industries (air traffic control, avionic industry, financial sector). He worked for 10 years as senior software architect at Raiffeisen where he was responsible for the technical development of the core banking system of Raiffeisen Bausparkasse. Max is specialized in transforming legacy systems incrementally into systems with state of the art technologies.

Currently he works for a startup company with blockchain focus.
