With the Global Day of Coderetreat behind us, we can go back to our usual meetup formula: the reading club. This time we are going to explore Object-Oriented Programming by discussing design principles behind the Smalltalk programming language.
Here's what Dr. Alan Kay, the inventor of Object-Oriented Programming said about it in 2003:
OOP to me means only messaging, local retention and protection and hiding of state-process, and extreme late-binding of all things. It can be done in Smalltalk and in LISP. There are possibly other
systems in which this is possible, but I'm not aware of them.
