The active defense concept combines threat intelligence, asset identification, network security monitoring, incident response and taking advantage of found threats. This concept would help you to analyze industrial control system (ICS) cyber-attacks, then identify and withstand against the threats towards your ICS. We know that we cannot secure everything around the plant. No matter how hard we try, sometimes things may not go well. In case there is a breach in your ICS, effective incident response procedures tailored for ICS help maintaining the safety and reliability of operations and found information can be valuable in preparing for the next attack.

Bio:
Can Kurnaz (GICSP, GRID, ISA/IEC 62443 Expert (CFS, CRAS, CDS, CMS), OSCP, OSWP) Process Control Domain Technology Specialist at The HEINEKEN Company. His decade of professional experience in cybersecurity field has focused on penetration testing, red teaming, ICS/SCADA security assessments, incident response and OT monitoring.
Previously, Can has worked as Cybersecurity Consultant and IT/OT Penetration Tester at Nixu, KPMG (NL), European Network for Cyber Security and Barikat Cybersecurity. Can has presented several times at leading cybersecurity conferences such as Black Hat and DEF CON.
