GeeCON & Amazon Hands-on – Creating Voice Experiences Using Alexa

Be ready for customers whenever they ask for you... no hands required. In this session, Amazon’s Staszek Paśko will introduce you to creating voice experiences for Amazon Alexa. Alexa is the speech and personal assistant technology behind Amazon Echo. Today you can use Alexa to listen to music, play games, learn about traffic and weather, control your household devices and more. Alexa offers a full-featured set of APIs and SDKs that you can use to teach her new skills and add her into devices and applications of your own. You will learn about:

• The Alexa platform fundamentals
• The basics of building voice experiences
• The Alexa Skills Kit, which enables you to add new capabilities to Alexa
• How to develop a new Alexa skill easily using AWS Lambda

Please bring your laptop, however it is not mandatory as it will be enough to have one for a group, we will use it in 2nd part of the meeting after a lecture.
