Opis:
Every now and then you hear about concurrency, threads, locks, semaphores, mutexes, multiple cores, synchronized and other hard/low multithreading or mechanical sympathy things. This is the talk that actually sorts it out and brings clarity to it all.
I'll tell you why some people claimed that it's time for multithreaded programming already half a century ago. Why it's becoming a hot topic again. What it's really about and where (if?) it matters. I'll show few people you may want to dig if you plan on knowing more about this stuff. I'll explain why close concepts like concurrency and multithreading are being often mixed up. I'll tell how it matters in Java. This is for people who want clarity, who want to know what's really in it and why should they dig... and what should they dig. Because, there are two kinds of people. Those with guns, and those, who dig. And you don't wanna dig. ;-)
In simple words: context for multithreaded programming in Java, concepts that are important there, language support and overall big picture (including programming languages, not just Java). And lots of links / people for you to read and follow later.*
* Presentation will be conduct in Polish.
